Pain Points is a business inefficiency tracking platform that lets employees report the frustrations and manual workarounds wasting their time. It automatically calculates the annual cost of each problem and uses gamification (badges, leaderboards, streaks, and real rewards) to keep the team engaged in continuous improvement.

How does Pain Points calculate the cost of waste?

When an employee submits a pain point, they estimate how often it happens and how long it takes each time. The platform multiplies frequency by duration by hourly cost to produce a baseline annual figure. When colleagues confirm they share the same pain point, the cost scales up automatically. During the discovery phase, accurate costs are calculated using actual salary data for the affected team members.

Can employees submit pain points anonymously?

Yes. For sensitive issues that people won't put their name to, anonymous submissions are hidden from colleagues but remain visible to administrators. The pain points are still captured, costed, and managed through the same lifecycle.

How does authentication work?

Pain Points uses Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for sign-in. Your team logs in with their existing Microsoft 365 credentials. MFA carries over from your directory. We don't store any passwords.

Where is my data stored and how is it protected?

All data is stored in Microsoft Azure SQL Server in the UK South region. Data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 (Transparent Data Encryption) and encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+. Application secrets are managed via Azure Key Vault with managed identity authentication. Each organisation's data is logically isolated and scoped at every API request.
